Similar visual add on was available even in visual basic 6.0 which was released in 1998. Since 1960 the coding practices does not changed.
Let's look to the future: The end-goal we're going to take is to tell the computer in words what to do. It could go even further: when the computer will read our mind. But the intermediate station must be the visual programming, which shortens the time and replace the typed commands with visual commands so that you only have to deal with the variables. But omg where are we if we still have to type 200 characters in 2022 to tell the computer that we want to bring a simple frame with text to the screen.
The biggest problem, and that’s the real brake, is that the average programmer even cant imagine that programming practices will ever change.
