You're a lifesaver.... you are quite correct that most people will not want to spend the 1/2 hour (at least) to get something people got more easily 50 years ago. You cannot figure out this device on your own, which means it is poorly designed. The manual, as well as the wiring instructions, is a nightmare. Only youtube videos like this one saved the day!

I am so freaking mad that i could break the thermostat, for 2 months weve been in the sweltering hot and the thermostat isnt working. When I push hold it instantly goes bot to 87 but i want it to 59.

Thank you. Additionally, I leave my thermostat in the on position to avoid all of the resetting I have go through when the unit is put in off position. Unfortunately, when the batteries need to be changed the unit has to be reset, which is not a fun thing to do. To keep the unit from turning on I manually set the temporary setting higher ( in regards to cooling, vice versa when heating). Your video does explain the manual overide clearly. Honeywell ought to be renamed to Honeyawful.

I got a rth221b1039, it has no days on it. It only has Wake, Leave, Return, and Sleep.

Does it kick on and off at your desired temp when you do a permanent override or does it just keep running?

i set up my schedule bt once i’m on the menu after setting it up it says 80* then i use the arrow to move it up and it says 70? that means the temperature it’s at 70 or 80? also it’s around the time we leave

On aTH4210 how do I get into "settings" and then "preferences" then "smart response technology" to turn "recovery mode" off (and to turn off "energy saving mode" ? Thanks

I did this but it's not heating at all. It has been at 66 degrees for an hr while i am trying to warm up my house. Has only gone up and down 1 degree
