That was intense. And great! Yes, at my basic level (Scottish V) I recall several times going from two bomber placements and thinking I have the crux nailes to - two moves later - thinking that the whole thing was about to fall down and I'm going to die. I've never had such a dramatic change in emotion - from complete calm to totall terror - in just a few moves on rock. Stevie Haston is a total legend and the next generation should respect what he and his peers did to create the sport - by taking huge risks.

Ice climbing has been one of part of climbing I enjoyed the most when things went well and hated, when it got out of control. Absolute fear and terror, which I very seldom felt on rock. But there are few things as satisfying as the complete process of climbing
winter routes

I enjoyed watching this video. Great cinematography . I understand what they mean when they talk about the connection with nature . The thing I most enjoyed is the absence of the how can people work at a 9 to 5 job rap. This is thrilling, but not possible for the average person .

very nice witnesses from pioneers, no doubt. but com'on always the same annoying british narrative like "we did did decades ago before anybody else in the world. com'on you;re a country with no mountain to start with, how can you be so sure nobody else has the idea of keeping crampons on the rock and ice axe to ease progression, especially at a time where there was no internet and no communication means like we have today. think of people trying on eiger for instance, or any mixed face in in the mont blanc... Eiger: late 20's... no body question your merit, just be less cocky. even the Lowe 1994 is imo utterly ridiculous, maybe a milestone but certainly not a first.
