Engines consuming Oil or Coolant is NOT normal. Not sure why people are trying to justify this.

Any idea if the 2023 3.0 Supras are experiencing this issue?

I own a 2021 Supra and fortunately it doesn’t appear that my car has this issue. I’ve had the add quart message appear after 5k miles and 3k miles, i just topped it off. But I do have the problem where my car is not able to measure the oil. I will start the process and it will continually fail at 16%. Getting rid of a dipstick is perhaps the dumbest thing ever.

My car is a 440i gran coupe 2017 ZF8HP with only 50.000kms on the clock, MHD stage 1 and Xhp flash stage 2… my B58 has no oil consumption at all between oil changes. My intervals for oil changes is 10.000Kms with liqui Moly 5W-30. Greetings from Spain 🇪🇸 Really happy with my car 😉👌

Appreciate you validating this issue. I see a lot of mixed opinions on the forums. I've been tracking my oil consumption for almost a year and it showed barely any change from 0w-20 to 5w-30. Hopefully Toyota or BMW will release a real TSB soon

Mine just started to consume a very small amount of oil. I probably put about 1700 and it looks like it burned about .3 of a liter. I just switched to the Liquimoly 5w-30 from an 0w-20. last oil change didn’t consume any at all 🤔

man i recently got a 2020 supra; i know it might not have this oil consumption issue but after watching the oil pump one im overthinking it.... Just not sure when this will happen as the warranty has already expired....

Is there a way to find out if they deleted the scan history?

Should i do the transmission service (340i zf8) at 50k miles or wait, and what’s required.. is it only the oil & oil pan or should i also replace the transmission cooler

Great information. Thanks for posting this. Considering a used '21 Supra from a BMW dealership and will only Toyota dealerships have the diagnostic software to see if oil light has ever come on in the past? Can the oil light indicator be "cleared" to hide the issue?

So with no dipstick, how do you know how much oil to add? Friend of mine just told me she's going to get a full refund for her '22 Supra over this issue. Toyota wants it back.

YESSSS I lemon lawed the A91 Refraction blue because of this crap. Had cylinder scoring. You are dead on. I got ripped on the forums over this. But it shouldn't burn like that. And yes 5w30 seems to fix it.

I have a 21’ m340i. At 5k I did an oil change then did a road trip in mid September from nyc down to key west, after I was in key west a few days the check oil light came on, it took about a half quart of liqui moli 6600 0w-20, on the drive back no more oil level issues and I changed the oil at about 3k using the same liqui moli blend. As of today I have about 15k and never have any engine oil consumption issues, but I stayed doing the 5k oil changes. I don’t believe in the 10k claims

Could bad PCV cause oil consumption my B58 burns 1l every 1500 miles

A 2021 Supra came in with the same oil consumption issue. Found out the piston ring gaps weren’t at the correct spec causing oil consumption. Newer pistons with rings at the correct gap solved the issue.

Were changes made with the 2022 b58 engine to correct the oil consumption issue?

My 21 Supra is using a liter of oil for every 2.1k miles. My dealership is telling me it is normal and to just top it up

I have a 21 Supra and I have the same issue.. Bought the car with 3, 350 miles and I got the engine oil at minimum notification at 6082 mi. Now I'm sitting closer to 9K miles and I measured the oil level and it's almost back at minimum. Currently, I have a DP, JB4, and CAI installed but I'm planning on changing everything back to stock and taking it to the dealer. Should I advise them that it's the piston ring gaps? Will I be fine taking my car to the dealership after reverting back to stock? Your response will be much appreciated.. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this issue!! This gives me flashbacks of when I owned an Audi A5 that had really bad oil consumption (they had a class action lawsuit for theirs). Thankfully I’m not dealing with it as of now with my 2018 240i.
