Why is Northeast India facing Extreme Heat?

Показать описание
In the northeastern region of India, an unusual heatwave has enveloped Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh. Temperatures soaring to 40 degrees Celsius are not typical for this time of year in the northeastern states. This rising heat is attributed to a phenomenon known as the “heat dome effect.” The heat dome effect is explained as a type of high-pressure system (also known as anticyclone) that forms over a large area in the atmosphere, and causes extremely hot and dry weather conditions.
As a result, residents are suffering from serious health complications, with reports indicating that seven lives have been lost due to this oppressive heat, with mobile applications informing a staggering “feels like 50 degrees.”

Government has cut down all old trees in the name of development, , what else you expect than having high temperature? I have seen dramatically change in Assam for last few years, Assam wetlands are filled up and big buildings are built, increasing of deforestation etc, , , while travelling through national highway no 37, I have seen how bad effect on nature, all trees are cut down, truely saying my heart break down, please save nature, stop deforestation 🙏

The main behind the reason of extreme heat in NE is Climate change. This year the temperature is gone upto 48° some district in assam. 1.According to Times of India report "75% of country's tree cover loss in 22 years happened in Northeast".
2. Huge number of infrastructure development in vulnerable area without proper Environment Impact Assessment.

What else can we expect, if they're cutting down the trees in the name of development. Being a native inhabitant of Northeast, its really heartbreaking to see the nature around us degrading. I've personally grown up surrounded by mother nature. And now I'm seeing her slowly dying off. It really hurts.

It is the result of man's intensive intervention in the natural environment created by the Lord of creation.

people always assume planting trees will shift a change in the climatic condition that we are unforturnately experiencing however even if one plant trees, it would take years and years for it to come in effect.
India, as of recent estimation, emitted over 2.6 trillions kilograms of carbon and a full grown (mature ) tree only absorbs 22 kilograms at its best and as we all know carbon is the gas that absorbs and traps the heattt, so keeping the facts in mind pls CUT YOUR CARBON EMISSION, WALK A LITTLE, TURN OFF THE ELECTRICITY WHEN NOT IN USE. PLANT NATIVE TREES( NOT EXOTIC)!!

Thank you so much for covering this! I am at Tezpur at the moment and I was wondering why our scientists aren’t talking about this abnormal phenomenon where we don’t even feel any wind. Massive deforestation in and around the region has drastically altered the climate landscape here in just two years. It is the worst kind of heat that I have seen in all my years - and let’s not even count the animal deaths in addition to the loss of human lives. Thank you for shedding light on this phenomenon. I pray that the common people also raise their voices. We cannot let our beloved northeast turn into a desert just because corporate forces demand it be so.

I still remember when I was in high school there were big and tall trees every village every family had this tiny little forests with some numbers of animals, river filled with flowing water, healthy agriculture with traditional values respecting nature then after COVID lockdown (now I am studying B.A)came a huge changes where tress were cut down unnecessarily, roads were widened (two-lane, four-lane), no sounds of birds during the spring, weak tress with lesser fruits, demand of motorcycle, car, smartphone (even the family with weak financial stability buying) crowded traffic, rise of population, clearing forests for human settlements, houses converting from traditional hay houses to houses with bricks and cement and now I am writing this comment to this video trapped here in this heat😂

Out 42°, inside home 48° with 82-87% humidity, I felt like I would not survive that day.🥵
