I was raised a Methodist and the first time I was allowed into the sanctuary for Christmas services this was played. As soon as the first notes everyone stood up. I didn't and my Dad slapped the back of my head and said STAND for this. At 75 I still stand, often just before the music starts as I know it's next one the program.

I've been watching all the versions of the Hallelujah chorus I can find, and this is my favorite version so far. I love how the singers don't have to look at sheet music. Everything is just so tight in this version, and most of the audience is engaged. They probably should have stood up though, ha ha. This was a once in a lifetime experience for them, for sure. There is one older man singing along, and a woman who is aware of the immensity of the moment. I do believe God enjoyed this one, and that the angels partook in this song. Here is where the lyrics come from:

How could you not just IMMEDIATELY jump to your feet and almost join in the absolute joy and exhilaration of the performance...especially if you are LISTENING to the WORDS. One of the BEST compositions this side of heaven...and am sure it will be repeated over and over there...AMEN AND AMEN..
