I have used a Hyperlite pack for years. As the pack can admit water, I always use a waterproof sac for my sleeping bag and night clothes. Don't forget that even if your pack were 100% waterproof, you will still be packing things in it that will be very wet, opening the top when it is raining, etc. and all of that will get your sleeping bag wet if not in its own waterproof bag.

I think your food bag, or a secondary bag with one day worth of food and snacks, is going to end up near the top of the bag. Your stakes should probably go inside a small bag and inside your pack. I think they'll fall out in that pocket over time. For the PCT, you'll very likely need more than 2 L of water. You probably want 4 bottles, and in a few places you made need as many as six. I live in San Diego County, do desert hiking and camping (the real desert, not the PCT's chaparral), and during the day with just one hour of exertion, you need 4 liters per day. If you're walking all day, it will be much more. Don't count of water caches to always be there.

I'll be 17 days behind you. Have a great hike, Shakes!

Hi, how do you use the Ursack in combination with the food bag? Are you just selecting your most "treasured" food items and putting them in the Ursack, which goes in the food bag? How do you decide which items go in the Ursack and which don't?
Very informative video, thanks and good luck on your hike!

I wonder how often you unpack and repack your whole pack each day since your clothes and food are at the bottom of your pack.

Honestly I'd be nervous 24/7 with anything vital in those mesh pockets not attached to your bag, like the sawyer mini. Just seems like it would suck for something to fall out if you throw your pack down. Aside from that, your setup is dope.

What sized windrider pack are you using? I’m considering buying one and am torn between the 2400 and 3400
