The #ColoradoRiver is home to some of the most fascinating landscapes in the world such as the Grand Canyon or the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument but human exploitation of the #river water is currently causing one of the largest man made nature catastrophes in the world.
A series of laws, lawsuits, contacts and other political decisions which are all together coined the "Law of the River" have allowed the surrounding states to exorbitantly exploit the rivers water.
Water for irrigation and the large cities in the states surrounding the river has depleted the largest reservoirs of the river like lake Mead and Lake Powell by 75% to this day and they are not expected to refill within our lifetime. Check out my channel for more videos about the worlds largest river and subscribe if you don't want to miss any future uploads. Cheers.

0:19 Arizona is marked as New Mexico... and Utah is mispelled, but a good effort. I think the way it's spelled in the video make more sense but you know "English fun"😂

Great video and a beautiful magic river. For great answers to the question how to lower pressure of water usage from Colorado river look up the work of Brad Lancaster and organizations like the Watershed Management Group in Tucson, Arizona. Even in these dryland climates it is possible to use rainwater for a large part of the water need. Proven design approaches already exist.

I loved these river videos. I think they would benefit by redoing the voice commentary to correct some odd pronunciations.

Arizona is mis-labeled New Mexico, which borders Arizona on the East. Needs correction.

Build desalination plants. And build nuclear power stations to power them.

Its a very simple solution. We clearly need seawater desalination and giant pipelines. End of story. Agriculture in the dessert is incredibly important to feed us all so we shouldnt stop it. Nd if we power the desalination plants with green energy its going to be fine and even mitigate sea level rise, and i know it sounds silly but some scientists believe if sea water desalination actually picks up on a wide scale it might mitigate 1-3meter of sea level rise. Which is INSANE to think about. Even more effective would be damming more rivers and using that water up before it reaches the sea, but that has a very negative environmental impact.

If it all goes into the ocean..why can't someone figure out a way to capture maybe build a dam. And use that water instead of just letting it go into the ocean

Dude, you need to check your spelling!
I thought it was just a few mistakes here and there at first, but it's like every single video.

You labeled Arizona as New Mexico. Therefore, I call BS on everything you know

This video is horrible. Utah spelled wrong, New Mexico where Arizona should be. When you start off with that - nothing else is believable.
