I love how you do more than just simply answer the question. You very easily could’ve answered the question about copyright and ended the video, which could’ve given your viewers a false sense of security.

Instead, you took the extra time to talk about trademarks and really gave your viewers the clearest, safest and most accurate information. Kudos to you, Greg, for constantly providing great, helpful content!!!!

Although this is pretty clear cut I still would a definite yes or no on some examples.
-“Wakanda Forever”
-Maybe a quote from say The Office for example.
-a line of a song lyric
- “we’ll always have Paris”

Can you tell us how to get permission to use a quote if we think it’s copywritten?
And how would we find out if a quote IS copywritten?

Thanks

I've noticed sometimes production companies will make a complaint even if the line isn't copyrighted

Hi, is it illegal to quote celebrities (just using their words) & give them credit.
For example::
"This is Bonkers"
-Steven Colbert, 2020

Thanks for the info. I know Amazon is overly cautious about this stuff. But there may be room for a few good ideas. Sounds like the key may be to use language that is commonly used and to stay away from character names. And, as always, check for trademarks. Interesting.

1. Movie quotes can be useful catch lines
2. Copyright might get coplex
3. Using movie quotes doesn’t feel right
