Don't work for a company that's too cheap to invest in a hoist.

I'm retired from roofing 45yr enough for me. My knees are shot. But my mind is strong. So I'm going fishing

I'm 46 years old and I've been doing it since I was 19. A summer job turned into an unwanted career

Not when your supply company booms it to the roof. You'll get there one day.

Or just have them delivered on the roof like a professional

You can’t get a boom truck to every job, in fact about 25% of the time we had to do this or use an equipter when we could

I do this for a living used to make 14 an hr all that takes is strength. Roofing is the hard part because of the back staying in the same spot. Carry on lads

My first job ever at 19 was laying shingles.. I tried carrying one bundle once my legs felt like toothpicks and to top it off we smoked a little bud while up there never again.. The more I live the less dangerous stuff I want to do

You better not step on that air hose with that bundle of shingles on your shoulder or it would be bad news

Man roofing is the second job I’ve ever had and to be honest it’s easy to ladder pack a bundle, torch down is rough but shingles ain’t nothing

And it’s the least paying position also

I see so many comments like: "just get it delivered with a boom lift." Some people don't understand if you're busy and constantly have business, sometimes you have no choice but to let the shingles get delivered on time. That might be a day or two before you can make it to that house. Although if you gonna do roofing all the time, I highly recommend investing in a ladder lift. Helps your back in the long run! Every now and then you might have to hoist one up there like a grunt. Part of the job. 🤷🏻‍♂️ if you cant handle that then honestly you shouldn't be a roofer. So many sissies hating in the comment's about bro carrying up a bundle. 😂😂😂 regardless if you get em boom lifted its still one of the hardest if not the hardest and damn sure hottest job in construction.
