Of course, the slitted eyes and stone chests of the Rune Bears could be a design holdover from an earlier time in Elden Ring's development back when they dropped Dragon Hearts. After seeing Shadow of the Erdtree’s trailer, this is probably true. The trailer showcased a rune bear roaring incantation that is similar to the dragon incantations

Thats kinda wild, always just assumed the rune bears were super charged on runes causing them to grow in size and strength

I like the idea of wild and generally normal bears mauling dragons so regularly that they started naturally committing dragon communion. It’s so absurd. Then again, they more likely would have just found immortal dragon hearts still beating among the corpses of mortal dragons, but still
