I hope you will consider also a dialogue with Filipino Americans who are not only homesick but want so much to share knowledge about us that are hardly known to kababayans back home. We constantly search for sincere commentators like you. Thank you for being there, Chris. We are watching with great interest here in Seattle, Washington, homebase of Microsoft, Boeing, Starbucks, Amazon, Weyerhaeuser, and top medical centers that choose Filipinos to employ. Blessings to you, Chris! Keep doing what you’re doing!

Back then SenTri asked DiGuong to take a drug test and Gandang Harry responded that nobody can tell the president to take a drug test.

Observe: even the most modern malls do not have garbage cans! Unbelievable! DILG Sec Abalos and MMDA must invest in urban garbage collection and central disposal systems! It is time to increase garbage awareness in all cities and urban centers! Collection trucks and disposal dumpsters are not hard to get if there is political will and lesser corruption!

Manila is congested with people (not all) with bad habits. They just throw garbage all over. I hope they learned valuable lessons from this flood.

Hey Chris all you bullet points are important but what strikes me the most is Flooding. It’s part of Filipinos daily norm that when it rains it flood but when it’s pouring like cats and dogs they sound the alarm. Everybody is pointing finger to the administration, everyone is crying for help. True the government has to be blamed and yes the everyone is part of the problem. The drainage, sewer system is out dated and needs total overhaul. What they do every time it flood is do a bandaid quick fix and everyone goes back normal life until the next flood. Urban planning will fix this issue. It seemed far fetched but possible. Eminent domain will come into play and the government has to be aggressive on this. Filipinos need to be self sufficient and don’t rely on handouts and having said this why don’t the government do job creations for the people. A job is a job, don’t matter if I’m flipping burger and wait tables or scrub floors and toilets as I will be mortified being a couch potato. Discipline and kindness is another trait everyone needs to improve. When the sewer is clogged it will pull stagnant water. Clean up your litter and do what is right and I think the majority is aware and smart to do what is right from wrong. Raise your voice and create awareness to the administration to fix the root of the problem not just a bandaid fix.

Pls address: there are absolutely NO GARBAGE disposals in any part, indoors or outdoors, in key places in urban areas! More shocking for years now: clogged sidewalks, squatters on riverbanks, pasaway parking, sphaggeti electric wires so unsightly and all of these symbolize complete LACK of law enforcement! How can we invite investors with surroundings like these?!

Social engineers affirm that the Philippines is one of the most difficult countries to govern: 7K separate and very tribal islands, very hot and humid climate, too westernized population aping richer nations, poor law enforcement and corruptible leaders! Comments please, Chris. Totoo ba mga ito?!

Correction: those were not islands. They were shoals, reefs or rock formations.

Water seeks its own level! God’s immutable law. Luzon has so many mountainous areas that produce water when the trees are cut down! But what is DENR and DILG doing? Why not plant more trees and cut down in mining operations? Please! Kundi lulubog na tayong lahat…!

Manila is below sea level n is sinking. Kung hindi planned ang community, maging perennial na ang baha. Kaya mahirap na baguhin existing/old structures. And besides, congested na ang Manila. Increasing population results to increased thrash n there’s no proper waste management in most communities in the Phil. Tapos kung sobrang dami ang ulan, matinding baha resulta.
