I’ve done this because of what I’ve heard… it actually tastes like that nail polish to stop nail biting; kind of comparable to stomach acid or bile… not pleasant. But, I’m not regretful of trying it… it’s not something I’d enjoy licking, but it’s neat to know the taste, as well as the fact it’s to stop kids from eating them.

I saw an episode of CSI, if you want to know it's rock or bone, you have to lick it.

Now it's the same trick to know the real Nintendo cartridge from the fake ones.

The bitter taste on the cartridges is so that small children and babies don't swallow them. Which was apparently an issue with DS and 3DS games
