9:48 little touch but as someone with two daughters who plays games like this I really appreciated that wording. Thanks Tom.

This game does a good job of making you care about your second and third place point scorers. The issue of many people having the same top score, means you should be focusing on the other ones once you realize it. There is an amazing social element to this game that can be subtle.

That said, the components are bad... even in the deluxe version.

About 25% of the "deluxe" pieces came broken in my copy... Really low quality.

"Behind the curve ball..." 😄

Another noteworthy addition to my collection of Vaselisms.

Uhh...

I like how both SUSD and Tom described it and I'm happy to own a "regular" edition. That said, THIS GAME IS SO DARK! It's like the printer had the tint up too high. The back of the box is impossible to see the whole board and even the board itself has extremely dark zones that you can't see well. Even the cards and sheets have such a deep shadowing to everything I can't even make out some of the faces on the faction sheets. A reprint would be wise to lower the tint and add in some brighter colors.

The publisher of this game is an imprint company of Game Salute's Dan Yarrington. It's could be important to some people who keep track of various things that happen between businesses and people in the hobby.

The cover gave me a Darth Vader feel and the map a Dune look... It instantly got my atention. The gameplay is interesting, but I was expecting something else. The farms/huts look good on the map, but the Towers (maybe was the video) are harder to find, I wish they had a more light colored palette, so as to pop more. I was hoping for something more like Dune-ish.

I just got the retail version, and are fine with the components I got (although I wonder if the extra cards improve things any). Still, I like the core concept a lot.

I bought this from Amazon (deluxe edition) and it got delivered someplace else, I'm really bummed out, I got a refund but I really wanted this game.

I think you're only allowed to take one of the actions of each councilor, not all of them

Almost a year later.... where is this game?! Hard to order because everyone says "not available." Especially the delux version. I'm freaking out because I want this game so bad 😃.

I was confused why there were 9 agents too. But I think the 9 agents are specifically for the 2 player game. Start with 3, remove one then add 3. By round 4, you should have all 9.

😫😫 Does anyone have the full list/understanding of the different editions available for this game? You got the basic, but there's a second edition, I've so seen the words collectors edition and delux edition.... but never what each of those actually come with. Any thoughts?

Was totally expecting this to be a Game or Thrones theme!

If I am behind the curve ball is that because you threw me an 8 ball. HaHa. Tom, you make my laugh

The game's MSRP is enormous for the component quality displayed. A big turn off for me.

Interesting point about the rule book, seems a failing for starling games maybe as everdell rulebook left me googling frequently for my first few games

Played it once. Now we happened to have very similar boards, everyone doing 1 switch we had 2 and 2 with the same combinations. 3 of 4 of us started with brown as -1 and 1 had it as +4. It turned out the order of the 2nd and 3rd empires made up the difference. We found the last round pretty much a let down. Not much choice in placing agents and playing out the round. I'm sure the play would be more dynamic with more varied scoing combinations, so I would be willing to play it again.
