the music when hawke straightens his posture while kneeled and how it comes in is some of the most beautiful i've ever heard

I loved everything about this masterpiece, especially Hawke's final moments. Everything he told his brother came to pass and he went out like a true warrior king.

The hidden treasure that I don’t see a lot of people talking about is how his brother says “how swiftly he swings his sword” it’s gruesome but you can tell it takes a couple blows to cut off the Kings head but it took one truly swift strike for Amleth to cut off his uncles head at the end

Best part about this scene besides the writing is the use of its score. The vocals coming in at 2:10 are goosebump-inducing every time

Man I was serioiusly SHOCKED when I found out it was Ethan Hawke who played the king. What an utterly impeccable actor. I've never seen him play such a brutal and animalistic role and he absolutely owned it.

Seeing this in the context of the rest of the story makes the confrontation between Fjolnir and Aurvandil all the more tragic.

Fjolnir had other guys fight his nephew and his brother, in both cases he didn't dare fight them alone. Not long after Fjolnir took over the kingdom, he fled like a coward when someone else came along, while his brother and nephew both stood their ground against overwhelming odds.
