Marklin 72270 Smoke in Marklin 37160

Thank you for the video. Now I know where I'm going wrong while installing 07220 on 36243. I should make the pin straight as the metal contact onboard is getting bent when I close the loco body. You have clearly illustrated this in 0:53 seconds. 36243's instruction manual does not clearly speak of this.

would the smoke generator be able to be mounted in an engine not made by marklin like from bachmann or hornby

I have a 37831 marklin train and i saw that there was a small cable on the top of the chimney, i tried using the smoke function and it worked, it was a second hand train but i do not know if it is a smoke generator or not... at first i thought it would be a short circuit. Please can you help me out?
