Great review, Matthew! I think Egypt Station is an underrated album that McCartney fans will re-evaluate favorably in the future (much like, but not to the extent of, the album Ram). I also appreciate that you said positive things about Back In Brazil. I'm one of the few who love that song!

Great review Matthew! Your videos are always very thorough and well prepared and even for me who have been a Beatles and Paul McCartney fan since the release of A Hard Day`s Night in 1964, bring new perspectives and informations on Beatles related records. I prefer the last half of Egypt Station, from Dominoes and onwards. Hunt You Down has a killer riff! Unlike some reviewers, I think C-Link is a great finish to a brilliant album. Here Paul is in a reflective mood. He is perhaps letting all impressions from the train journey sink in. A group that has got little attention from the video channels on YouTube, is Procol Harum. They are so much more than A Whiter Shade Of Pale. Start with Broken Barricades (the last one with Robin Trower) and then listen to A Salty Dog and Shine On Brightly. I look forward to your future videos. Greetings from Ivar in Oslo.

Thanks so much for sharing your take on this wonderful LP, Matthew. It’s definitely my favorite of his more recent work and I think his best album since Flaming Pie. I enjoyed and agree with most of your analysis although I might give Dominoes a slight edge over Who Cares as my favorite song on the record. I generally listen to The Explorers Edition on CD and really enjoy the extra studio tracks, especially Get Started and Frank Sinatra’s Party. How lucky we are that Paul is still so incredibly productive and creative that we get these as a bonus. Any thoughts you would care to share about these extra tracks? Thanks again for your video.

One of his best albums by far.Even more impressive when you add the tracks from the Explorer's Edition and the two tracks off the 7" picture disc.A great creative period for Paul.Great review.

This album is one that I liked from the first listen. Your review just reminded me of how really good the album is and definitely should listen to more often. Really appreciate the thought you put into your reviews, looking forward to your next one. Take care.

Great review as always Matthew. I love how you put so much thought into what you say about each song. As for Egypt Station, it was an album that I really loved on the very first listen, which isn't something that has happened with any of his albums from the 21st century. It improves with additional plays until you realise that its actually one of his best ever albums. I haven't done a ranking of paul's albums yet nor have I done a review of this album but I would say at a glance this albums is somewhere around the 6th or 7th best for me. there are one or two weaker moments as you point out, but generally this albums is chocked full of great songs. I remember at the Grand Central Station gig, he used Who cares to make a point about bullying and that has stayed with me . Some many great songs its hard for me to pick a favourite so I won't do so right now, but I will have come up with one by the time I do my review of it.. great video Matt, thanks for doing it.

HELLO from the UK. That's a great review about a great album. I know not everyone likes EGYPT STATION but I think it's great album. I would like to see Paul playing the full album live. I think every artist has ups and downs during their own musical life. It's up to the individual what they like or dislike. lf I was asked what my favorite Paul album is, for me it would be RAM, Happy days, I was 16 when I bought it, I am now 67. Doesn't time fly. Love your channel. 🙂👍

About every 4 months I play this album and I keep trying to give it a chance. I'm not a huge fan of Egypt Station. I'm not a fan of the song Fuh You. Paul knew exactly what he was doing with this song. Another major thorn in my side is despite repeated warnings. I might have liked this song quite a bit more if Paul would have kept his mouth shut and hadn't said who it was about. Some people were telling me no it's not about that person but lo and behold all I had to do was a little digging and there was Paul doing a live interview in Europe and sure enough he said despite repeated warnings was about Donald Trump so that pretty much did it for me. I tried playing this CD a couple months ago and I just can't get past what that song is about. In that live interview if he just would have said when the guy asked him is that about Donald Trump all he had to say was oh it could be about any politician. Sorry Matthew but I'm pure Republican. I love the song dominoes. I also love the medley. I don't know I'll play it again in a couple weeks. Like a ton of other people I'm one of the biggest McCartney fans on the planet so I'm just glad he did the album anyway. I do like the previous album a lot better from 2013 "NEW". So anyway Matthew these are just opinions of mine that's all. Take Care
