Sago At Gulaman Recipe (Samalamig) Drink
Sago at Gulaman Drink is a favorite filipino summer cooler (samalamig). It is made from arnibal (sugar syrup), vanilla and the star of the drink sago (tapioca pearl) and gulaman (gelatin) with crushed iced.

Sago At Gulaman (Samalamig) Drink Recipe
Ingredients
1 can (540g) grass jelly
1 cup tapioca pearl (sago)
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups water
6 cups water
1 tsp vanilla
Crushed or chunks of ice
Procedure
1. Cook tapioca pearl(sago) according to package instruction. Put tapioca pearl(sago) in boiling water. Cook until sago becomes translucent. Drain and set aside.
2. Open can of grass jelly and using a strainer drain excess liquid. Cut grass jelly into cubes and set aside.
3. For the arnibal (sugar syrup). Put brown sugar in a pot. Stir continuously in low heat until the brown sugar started to caramelized. Then quickly put water into the caramelized sugar and stir until it’s completely dissolve. Set it aside and let it cool.
4. In a deep container or bowl add water, arnibal(sugar syrup) and vanilla. Mix well. Then add cooked tapioca pearl(sago), grass jelly(gulaman) and chunks of ice. Ready to serve in drinking glass with crushed iced.
