Evidence - Chapter 13: Direct & Circumstantial Evidence (CLP)

There are two (2) types of evidence:-

(a) direct evidence; and
(b) circumstantial evidence.

Direct evidence is evidence of facts in issue. Eg, in a murder case where the deceased was stabbed, a witness saw A stabbed the deceased. The witness can give direct evidence of the actus reus.

Circumstantial evidence is evidence of relevant facts. Eg, in a murder case where the deceased was stabbed, the fact that A fled the scene of the crime is a relevant fact.
