High Five for Mahindra XUV700

Mahindra’s latest SUV achieved five stars for adult occupant and four stars for child occupants in Global NCAP’s latest #SaferCarsForIndia crash tests.

The recently launched Mahindra XUV700 was tested in the most basic safety specification, fitted with two airbags, ABS brakes and ISOFIX anchorages. The XUV700 could be improved by making standard its optional equipment such as side body airbags, side head curtain airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and three point belts in all seating positions.

Edit : Dear GNCAP, I have a question why the air bags didn't deploy in side impact crash test done at 50 Km/hr as the variant used is AX7 L which comes with side airbags was the impact not that much it couldn't trigger sensor ( this is the reason what I can think off or were airbgas disabled ) or any other reason rest it's and Amazing performance as predicted and we are really proud of our Indian brands doing so well in terms of safety hopefully other manufacturers learn from them and provide Indians with a safer car what they deserve, and do support safercarsforIndia 🇮🇳 missions

For everyone questioning why the side airbags didn't open and car toppled during the side impact is, GNCAP turned off the airbag sensor and antiroll bar so that it can be classified as a base variant... And they choose top variant just to test the side impact with sunroof, as the structural rigidity of any car with sunroof is lower than a normal roof car
