Low 'n' Slow Graupner Topsy with throttled Cox Babe Bee 049

I like puttering around with Retro planes, and my opinion the Cox Babe Bee is too powerful for the Graupner Topsy. After my last successful flights with the 5x3 threeblade prop mounted backwards to burn surplus power, I now tried a Cox car throttle sleve, the one with the manual lever. The sleeve sits very stiff and doesn't move by itself, and it throttles the engine down to stable idle. I can now adjust the power before the flight depending on the wind and the amount of thrill I am willing to digest, haha. The RPM in this video are about 10000, and the engine is also much more quiet.

Great video! I am also working with several well running engines at the moment, but only have one plane flying. Also interested in throttling them down (I have a few Cox sleeves). Your set up was very interesting.

Wie aus dem Katalog. Gute Idee, den BabeBee zu drosseln. 👍👍👍
