Skytech M71 Scout Micro Tricopter Drone Flight Test Review

preview_player
Показать описание

Pros
- This little drone has a very unusual tricopter design with two opposing motors in the front. When forward flight is desired, the top front motor spins faster and the opposing bottom motor spins slower to pitch the quadcopter forward. The process is reversed for backward flight.
- Very stable flier. Should be good for beginners.
- Range advertised at 30 meters. But I easily flew it out to 100 meters (GOAAALLLLLL!!!!!!).
- The propellers are very well protected with prop guards. The front opposing propellers are encased in a protective ball cage.
- Well lit, should be a good night flier.
- Has an on/off switch.
- Uses widely available, cheap, generic 350 to 380mah white Losi LiPo batteries. Finding spare batteries should be very easy.
- Controller includes a charging port to allow charging the quadcopter's batteries in the field using the controller's AA batteries for power.
- Small and lightweight, does not require FAA registration.

Cons
- Only available in Mode 2.
- Does not have headless mode or one key return.

It has to be one of the coolest looking drone I ever seen even something out out of star wars or something lol

It's usually called a Y4 quadcopter. Tricopter enthusiasts will be enthusiastic about telling you it isn't a tricopter, a tricopter has 3 motors/props, the single rear motor tilts left to right to give yaw control, rather than doing differential yaw like on a quadcopter.

nice video, thanks
The button you was not sure about, was it for switching the LED's off perhaps

The 2 front motors both produce upward thrust, however the spin in opposite directions. So, they controll yaw by changing the speed of the motors.

love the videos man. in my town in canada you dont see people with quads. nobody to fly with really lol. so its awesome seeing all kinds of brands and stuff. anyways thanks :)

I have been flying this for 4 months now at 4 lipos at a time near enough everyday. Its one of my favourite. It flys really far too. I only fly it at night. I get a good 5 minutes per flight.

Hey quadcopter101 do you recommend the XK Detect X38 for a good GPS Quad?Ive got a lot of experience with quadcopters and looking to go up to GPS ones.

Hello Quadcopter 101, can you recommend me a small camera for mounting, say on an Alias/Ominus/ or Mjx x400? I have all those quadcopters and was wondering what small camera I can mount on them. I know the mobius is a good choice but I was hoping for something under $50. Thank you.

I like the design of this little micro. It looks comparable a to starfleet vessel in quadcopter style. It would have been nice to see footage in the dark for the lights, but an overall great presentation nonetheless. 👌🏾🤓

hello can u do a review of the
Syma X51 Spaceship because eit looks like the samething as this one also the middle circle is a demo button

it has 2 front motors because physics. since a multirotor will control yaw using the torque generated by the motors, an odd number of rotors (like 3) would cause the torque to be out of balance and it wouldn't work so easily (although it is possible). using 4 motors is the easy way to make this work

One day I will have money for me pay one this . Very good video my friend I am your fã

I guess the seccond motor on the front is there to make yaw possible. A quadcopter speeds up 2 motors and slows the other two down to yaw. A real tricopter uses a servo to tilt its back motor which this cheap one does not have so it needs the seccond motor to make yawing via differential thrust possible. In the end it is a quad with its two front motors positioned above eachother. (Wouldn't make much sense if one of them would point downwards because you don't need that to pitch and you want it to fly so aiming one motor down is not a good idea. Normal quads don't reverse their motors either. They only slow them down or speed them up to tilt into the direction you want them to tilt. 3D quads on the other hand can reverse their thrust, but they only do it for inverted flying).

it reminds me of a coaxial helicopter but with 2 tail rotors. I like it.

Looks like a re-branding of the Syma X51 Spaceship.
