The U.S. is currently in the middle of a blood shortage. Hospitals across the country are being forced to postpone elective surgeries and transplants as they scramble to find donations. I went to see where I could give blood. It will cost me about $150 in Uber rides to give blood on top of a 4 hour commitment for travel and waiting. That's the problem. They rely too heavily on the ability to go to random places and capitalize on random people. Giving blood should be a regular and common part of American life, but check your local area.... is there any "bricks and mortar" location that doesn't turn donating blood into a day off of work? Its like food services.... you'd think after 100 years this country would get smart and find a way to guarantee a meal, water, and emergency blood for its citizens. More important to have sky scrapers and cell phones I guess.

I would donate but I have a phobia of needles. The last time I donated blood, it didn't go so well😣 Trust me I tried but I had to be sent home when I was supposed to be in class.
