Lofoten is an archipelago and a traditional district in the county of Nordland, Norway. Lofoten is known for a distinctive scenery with dramatic mountains and peaks, open sea and sheltered bays, beaches and untouched lands. Its largest town, Svolvær, lies inside the Arctic Circle. The car ferry to Lofoten sails from Bodø in the mainland to Moskenes. Major villages/town and commune are Austvågøya, Gimsøy, Vestvågøya, Flakstadøya, Moskenesøya, Værøy and Røst. Å is the southern most tip of lofoten and Sørland and Røstlandet Islands are way bit far from other group of Islands. Right from Å, E10 high way connect E6 upper most part of lofoten with several bridges between Islands in particular Austvågøy to Vestvågøy. Other places are Henningsvær, Ballstad, Reine, Kabelvåg, Laukvik, Nusfjord, Sørvågen, Leknes in Vestvågøy and Svolvær in Vågan. Beaches are Unstad, Haukland, Vik, Myrland and Skagsanden.
