I have watched several tutorials tonight on you tube about Calligraphy. I saw Jordan Moran's beginning video and was very happy with her video, but I saw that you actually teach it. YOUR a VERY GOOD INSTRUCTOR and one that I can follow. The BEST I have seen so far, and your the one I want to teach me. Thank you for posting this video that explains everything in such a clear and simple manner that even a beginner like me can understand. I like the way you explain the basic strokes and how important it is to get those down. And the way you go over the nomenclature of the writing instrument. As a beginner, I couldn't figure out how the artists in some of the other videos were making some of the lines thin and some of the lines thick. I watched many videos before I stumbled upon your video (which is the best one I found so far). I think I might try my hand at learning calligraphy and collect some of the things needed to get started. Again, thank you so much for posting this.

An oblique holder is usually for Spencerian rather than copperplate. A lot of master scribes have told me that. I am an amateur calligrapher only though.

Love this! I started practicing calligraphy a year ago, but very scarcely and now I'm trying to actually get into it. These videos so far are very well explained!
