I've always wanted to move faster when I shoot with a tripod and monpod. The YC Onion Pineta Peak Tripod, Pineta Monopod, and Nut Quick Release Plate have genuinely impressed me.

Sorry I’m still a child in my head, but I almost spit my coffee when I read nut quick release 😂

This equipment is so similar to the ifootage equipment: Cobra 3 monopod, their extension pole, mini tripod, quick release plate, and Seastars Q15 release plates. The tripod however is more like Sachtler Tripod Speed Lock CF HD, or SIRUI SVT75Lite. What is different is the added RS2 and RS3 adaptable plate.

Been using YC Onions mini slider for years, quality product so i'm not surprised they came out with this.

Whoa, I didn't even realize YC Onion made tripods/monopods. It looks awesome! Great review, brotha 👊🏼

clever system indeed. With the different ways of stabilization we have now, i have not used a tripod for my last several shoots. Handheld makes the video more interesting too.

Brandon where are you at? This patio looks so relaxing. Great video as usual.

That was plenty, and in clear example, to help me decide if I want one or not. Thanks.

Been doing a lot of detail research on both the ifootage and this YC onion monopods. Coming from a background from shooting in international commercial studios and as a key grip in the motion picture industry where gears are built to last. The concern I have is 1) long term durability of this quick release mechanism squeezed into such a narrow single tube. How does it function mechanically and whether the metal they use within are of reasonable quality. 2) the spring loaded 3/8 -16 adapter screw is actually a sleeve nut over a 1/4-20 screw. With a spring within. So when you mount a ronin gimbal or relatively heavy camera setup (yes, I know 8kg payload) and do the crane overhead shot, the load is offset to one side instead of a vertical load. This really stress the sleeve nut on the 3/8-16. It can crack suddenly and your whole camera setup to crash to the ground. I rather they do it the old fashion way where you have a solid bolt with one end with 3/8-16 and 1/4-20 thread on the other made with 316 stainless steel. So you just unscrew, reverse and screw it in. Much safer. 3) the angle of the 3 legs spreads out almost totally flat to the horizontal axis, unless you really have a very flat ground, the centre monopod rubber knob can actually touch the ground first thus leaving the 3 legs dangling off the ground, making them useless. Yes, you can adjust the angle of the 3 legs higher but that means smaller footprint in diameter, compromising on stability.

I have the smallrig freeblazer and that head is exactly the same but with different brading. Were they both made by the same chinese manufacturer and then sold to different brands?

Might that be as good as geared head for interior photography?

How do you think this compares to the new SmallRig AD-100 FreeBlazer? Granted that one doesn’t have the monopod option. Additionally what do you think about the Chronicle tripod by Promaster? It’s similar to this with a monopod option, but doesn’t have the same type of head.

That tripod looks overkill for your 1 camera and lens setup.

I’ve got the pineta monopod too but the only gripe I have about it is the feet seems abit lacking.
