Solidworks Revolve Error - 'The Sketch is open, self-intersecting or intersects the centreline'

Показать описание
A common problem when trying to make Revolved Boss/Base or Revolved Cut Features is the Sketch Error, "The Sketch is open, self-intersecting or intersects the centreline".
To fix this try:
1. Check that your Sketch isn't open. This means that you need one single, closed profile with no gaps or breaks. Try using an Extruded Boss/Base to check whether your profile is closed. If you can't Extrude the profile then it probably isn't fully closed. You can also use the Select Chain (right click on any line in the Sketch) option to help find gaps.
Note: the lines of the profile must be solid lines. Construction/Centrelines count as gaps in the profile. Make them solid by selecting them, then unchecking the 'For construction' box on the left.
2. Check that the Sketch doesn't self-intersect. This may be lines crossing over themselves/overlapping, or it may be single lines that are only connected at one end. This may also mean there are two lines drawn in the same place, one on top of another. To help find these use the Select Chain option again.
3. Check that the Sketch doesn't intersect (cross over) the centreline. You can have profiles on both sides of the centreline, as long as you don't actually cross over it.
By checking these three areas you should be able to find and fix your problem. If you're still stuck then drop me a comment below and I'll try to help.
Thanks for watching, and happy modelling!
