The U.S. Coast Guard provided an update Tuesday on the search and rescue operation for the submersible that disappeared on its way to the Titanic wreckage site in the North Atlantic. The sub had about 96 hours of oxygen at most onboard, and as of Tuesday afternoon would have about 40 hours of breathable air left, the U.S. Coast Guard said. Five people were on board the vessel when the crew of the Polar Prince — the ship that ferried the submersible and expedition members to the dive site — lost contact with them on Sunday.

At some point, they will have to call it a "search and recovery" mission.

I think the outcome will not be good. Prayers.
Doesn't someone have an unmanned sub to reach that depth?

Despicable, turning the Titanic into a tourist destination.

Am I the only one that is just realizing how close to the US the Titanic sank?

The Titanic is at 12, 500ft. The maximum depth for the Titan Submersible is 13, 123ft. Not much of a margin. I would think the submersible imploded. If they ran into trouble they would have dropped ballast and floated to the surface.

First question! When will the submarine tours of the submarine that wrecked touring the ship that wrecked begin?

Can the agencies plan ahead of time for different possible scenarios? If you all wait until its found you may not have much time to figure things out and get the necessary equipment. Search but also plan for different scenarios so you all are ready when its located. Have all the equipment ready and not waste time getting things shipped to the location.

There is a reason why osha requires a backup plan to recover anybody involed in an accident. It seems they had none.
