Fluid as a Continuum

Fluids are composed of randomly moving and colliding molecules. This poses challenges when we want to find the value of a fluid property (such as velocity, temperature, density etc.) at a point in a fluid. If a molecule coincidentally exists at your chosen point, this result is very different to if there is no molecule at your chosen point. To bypass the unpredictability of the motion of fluid molecules, we use the continuum assumption in most cases, to find fluid properties.
