The crazy part is that in 2008, there actually was a Simpsons Treehouse of Horrors comic book story entitled “Murder He Wrote” which was a Death Note parody with Bart finding the notebook and Krusty as Ryuk. It was done completely in black and white in an anime style. It was awesome.

The scene where Lisa falls back looks so much like when Light reacted when first meeting Ryuk! Incredible animation!!

This ....this right here solidifies The Simpsons as the greatest cartoon ever made. I've never seen a collaboration at this level between a non-anime and one of the most iconic anime. Like....how did they do this???
