It is an intergovernmental military alliance between 28 European countries and 2 North American countries. Established in the aftermath of World War II, the organization implements the North Atlantic Treaty that was signed on 4 April 1949.

I do not support the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but I totally understand Russia. Nobody wants their number one threat on their doorsteps. Just like China will not allow the US to take control of Taiwan, and just like the US will not allow the USSR to take control of Cuba, Russia will not allow NATO to take control of Ukraine either.

Just a correction: Only West Germany joined NATO in 1955. East Germany didn't join until 1990 when the 2 Germany's united. Belarus also withdrew from the partnership with NATO (I believe)

putin isn't lying after all. nato did expand eastward by a lot and ukraine is a rocks throw away from moscow. no one would be comfortable having a huge allience against themselves so close to their capital.

Mistakes: Germany didn't reunified until 1990
Slovakia didn't broke away from Czechia until 1992 cause it was called "Czechoslovakia"

Russia was also part of the NATO's partnership for peace program, They established a great relationship but the NATO broke the agreement the reason why the former German Chancellor Angela Merkel was angry towards the US and Britain for not following the agreement.

Fun fact! When a member of NATO wants to leave- it does! When a member of the Warsaw pact wants to, it gets invaded!

Russia isnt the Soviet Union, if they were, perhaps Nato would be worried.

Otan es una alianza militar y si avanzó hacia Rusia en tiempos de paz, dejó de ser alianza de defensa. Conflicto totalmente provocado por la otan y sus intereses económicos. Interesting fact: the soviets wanted to join NATO but NATO refused because of some issues however if they accepted 70% of what happened in the cold war could have been avoided

Strange choice of colouring the USSR red but have its allies in the Warsaw pact white. I know this is about nato but there was the clear nato-warsaw pact antagonism, two big blocks and not one big block against the ussr
