If the earth is flat then….

1. Why do stars rotate counterclockwise in the northern hemisphere, and clockwise in the southern hemisphere?

2. How come you can't see Polaris from the Southern Hemisphere?

3. Why can someone in South America, South Africa, and Australia all see the same constellations, yet be on the opposite side of the flat earth map? Further, they are all looking in opposite directions to see those stars. Doesn't work on a FE map.

4. Why do all snipers, artillery troops, and ballistic missile targeting software have to account for something called the Coriolis effect?

5. Why do we have both a north AND south magnetic pole? Isn't there just one pole on a FE model?

6. Why hasn't anyone taken a photo of the edge of the earth, or the Ice Wall of Doom? Did you know you can visit Antarctica? Why hasn't any FE'r tried? I'd want to know the truth if I was that passionate about it.

7. How come you can travel from South America to Australia and fly over Antarctica? Shouldn't they be on opposite sides of the FE model? See Qantas flight #63/64 on Flight Aware’s website. How come the actual flight path is different than you FE’rs claim?

8. If the sun is really close, then how come it doesn't get bigger from sunrise to mid-day, and smaller from mid-day to sunset?

9. How come we can't see the sun with a powerful telescope moments after a sunset? Shouldn't it be right there if the earth was flat?

10. How come ships appear to sink over the horizon, losing the hull first before the mast? If it was truly 'perspective' then it should disappear at the same time.

11. Why do solar and lunar eclipses exist? Aren't the sun and moon always on opposite sides on a FE model? What’s causing the shadow during the lunar eclipse?

12. We've observed different phases of Venus, the moon, and other planets, leading to strong evidence that they are spherical. Shadows from the craters on the moon further back that assessment. Why is the earth any different?

13. Explain retrograde motion of the outer planets.

14. Explain how I can travel to the middle of no-where, lose cell reception, yet I still receive GPS? You guys say GPS comes from cell towers. Uh, no it doesn’t!

15. Did you know that planes don’t dip their noses, they follow the curve of the earth? FE’rs think a plane would fly off to space. That would require the plane trade kinetic energy for potential energy, which would equate to a decrease of speed. While cruising planes don’t decrease speed. Simple physics.

16. Did you know that an aircraft attitude indicator gyro doesn’t prove a flat earth? They have pendulous vanes which helps keep the gyro aligned with gravity to the local plumb line. Common error with FE’rs. Also, electronic systems, such as an Inertial Navigation System (INS) utilize a Schuler’s Tuning feedback loop to account for earth’s curvature.


18. FE’rs claim there’s no such thing as gravity, only density and buoyancy. Gravity is a force, measured in Newtons or pounds. Density is measured in kg/(m^3). The units are not the same. You can calculate the buoyancy force, but that equation has “g” in it, which stands for gravity. Congrats, you think gravity is nothing more than buoyancy, which is actually dependent on gravity. Way to go guys….

19. How come most FE videos actually prove a globe? The author lacks a fundamental understanding of physics, or they are out to make money off of gullible people.

20. Did you know that there’s no such thing as the law of perspective? The actual definition of perspective reads: “the art of drawing solid objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other when viewed from a particular point.” Has nothing to do with the bottoms of boats disappearing or the bottoms of skylines obscured by a body of water. The Law of Perspective doesn’t exist.

21. Why are the towers of the Verrazano Narrows Bridge in NYC 1 5/8 inches further apart at the top than at the base?

22. If the sun were 3000 miles high as FE'rs claim then let's ponder this....China is 6200 miles from coastal California. So on a flat earth model, when the sun is on the other side of the "dinner plate", according to basic trigonometry the sun should never get any lower than 25.8 degrees ABOVE the horizon when viewing a sunset from California. However, we observe the sun going below this value all the way to zero degrees as it sets. If it were truly perspective, it would just fade away at a point in the sky 25.8 degrees above the horizon. So either sunsets are fake, trigonometry is fake, or the FE model is fake. Take your pick....

1. Why do the poles receive 24 hours of sunlight in opposite seasons?
2. Why do toilets swirl in opposite directions in opposite hemispheres if the Earth is not spinning?
3. Why can you watch a sunset from the ground, then use a drone, go directly upwards and watch the same sunset?

There is no flat Earth model because flat Earthers have to change it depending on the question they are attempting to answer

One question that ended this debate was when Elon Musk asked, “Why is there no flat Mars theory?” A flat-earther said that there was documented evidence (satellite photos, real-time video, etc.) that Mars was round.
