On his last point, there ARE people who do commit suicide because they think that their life has no meaning, and the others that think the same but dont commit suicide, that could be because of evolution. Evolution is all about survival, and all our parents survived so that we could live, so we genetically have the will to live.

Quite a misstep to try and use Shakespeare's words as an example of probability. The only reason they will at one point come in the exact right order is because their existence is due to an intelligent designer in the first place. There is no way around this yet many atheists do such mental gymnastics to avoid it.

Hundreds of Earth type inhabitable planets found? Has this guy even looked into any details? That's ludicrous. Check them out. The ones I looked into are what I call 'wishful thinking' category. "Supersized Earth"? Orbital periods in the days? AU distances like <1/10? Give me a break.

People need to remember that the bible is about God’s creation of earth. It’s not a book about the planets and the galaxies, because why would it benefit us to know all that? The bible is a guide to earthly life essentially. God doesn’t owe us ANYTHING so if the bible doesn’t address everything in the universe, then so be it.

The complexity of our bodies has been explained by evolution. No god required for that. You wanna add god as the cause of the universe and therefore evolution? Fine, but there is no reason to believe the complexity of life points to a god (although there was before Darwin's theory).

I’m convinced that Knectle has a very shallow understanding of physics, cosmology, astronomy, etc BECAUSE he has accepted the notion that you “can’t get something from nothing”.

The problem with that is that Cliffe has NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER there was nothing before the universe we now occupy. For example it’s been known in physics (actually observed) that particles can & often do pop into existence from what seems to be Nothing. What that means is that nothing isn’t really nothing. It means that what appears to be nothing can instead be “something”. Evidently Cliffe here & all his theist apologist cohorts don’t seem to realize is their conclusion of something from nothing is based upon Ignorance about the natural universe.

What exactly does Knectle mean when he claims it take intelligence to put matter & energy together to make life ? Again, a conclusion based upon ignorance about the capabilities of matter & energy.

Take for example the beginnings of this universe of which the very first atoms to form were hydrogen. When that hydrogen became sufficiently compressed together due to “mutual attraction”, what happens ?? It ignites. A star is formed. That star produces more energy. As energy levels increase so does the probability that more complex atoms emerge. Then complex molecules, then life is just one possibility, then complex life, etc. NONE of that process Requires an independent non physical intelligence to get everything started.

Point being… Cliffe evidently possesses a somewhat simpleminded understanding of the cosmos. It easier to accept things he can understand and discount the things he can’t. And it’s a good possibility that he thinks that way because of what he was taught and the environments in which he was subjected to when much younger. And now he’s passing the same simplemindedness on to his son.

What this is is an example of how historical phenomena has been interpreted with intellectual ignorance & passed along for generation after generation of which many such teachings have been completely debunked by the scientific method over the past 200 or so yrs.

Historically, the ENLIGHTENMENT Period just 300 yrs ago was an attempt to shift knowledge to physical evidence that exists independent of personal preference or opinion. But it has always been fought with the pig manure taught by religious institutions. Ideas that capitalize on human imperfection, impulsiveness, insecurities & imagination. What one might refer to as the “4 Is”. And religions are very likely one of the oldest deceptions involving ignorance about the real world ever perpetrated upon humankind. By treating mysticism & supernaturalism as though all of it were empirical fact when none of what it claims is. And to top that off, religion operated just like any other “business” selling products or services of which it cannot prove to be true. And the icing on that cake is )in the U.S. anyway) is TAX-FREE. If that isn’t a SCAM I can’t imagine what would be.
