I've always been a bit confused by laser options. This is the best explanation I have every seen. Thank you.

I would truly appreciate a video on melasma. I'm 100% sure tones of women out there would love it too.

I had a phenol peel (!) around my eyes- and it was the best thing I ever did. Very painful, a lot of downtime, but what an effect. It also lasted literally for decades.

I appreciate your experience and explanations. You make things understandable in a way that doesn’t feel like your ‘selling’ me something but actually informing your audience!

I love your videos. I looked at your web site. I would really like to see before and after photos without makeup, with the same hair style and color. When the after photos clearly have better makeup, hair color and style it interferes with the integrity of the procedures. I do believe your work as a plastic surgeon is superb. Your free education on YouTube is appreciated. Thank you for this service.

Dr. Karam,
I feel like I’ve just seen you for an appointment in your videos!! You give out such amazing information, that keeps the people who don’t have the financial means to be talked into applications that don’t work!!! I consider you to be the best Facial Rejuvenation Surgeon ever!! I take all your opinions as the best, truthful information I can get. Thank you so much for considering the people who don’t have the financial resources to make poor choices from ignorance of what Is the truth or a Dr. trying to talk you into the latest fad i.e. micro needling or the threads. Thanks again for another informative amazing video. Judy from Iowa

As a laser technician this was great! I appreciate you educating people on the difference. There are so many that think it’s a one & done treatment and it’s not. Then I make sure to educate & reinforce that what they do afterwards is far more important. Some people don’t want to invest in the pre & post skin care with these treatments. If you’re spending this much money invest, or you’re just wasting your money.

Perfect, thank you. I've been researching and there are close to 200 different lasers. Thank you for helping me weed out the ones that will work for my symptoms. Much, much appreciated.

Things to consider when researching laser treatments:
1. Past a certain level of acne scars, you will never achieve perfect skin texture. Please, weigh this with your budget. At best, these procedures can give you a 30% reduction in scarring. At worst, it will do nothing. That's about $500-2000 wasted.
2. The depth and texture of your scarring dictate what laser you can use. For more topical scarring, resurfacing does a decent job. For moderate to severe ice pick scars, you will need fillers. No laser currently goes deep enough to effect moderate to severe ice pick scars.
3. None of these effects are permanent. That's right, you HAVE to return to the office every month to 2 months. These procedures do not fix, they alleviate the appearance for a short duration.

As someone who has struggled with anxiety and stage 4 aggressive acne, I've done everything there is: vampire facial, IPL, Erbium laser, CO2 Laser, Microneedling etc. I even have my own regimen at home to supplement my treatments from the clinics.

However, my skin will never be perfect. This is after 5 years of continuous treatments and meticulous home care. Why? The level of acne I had has scarred my skin to a level that can't be fixed unless I do invasive surgery or fillers. Fortunately, if I continue getting maintenance work from the clinic and keep up with my own skincare, my scars look decent unless I am tired or dehydrated. When I'm tired, you can see everything.

Hope this helps. The main thing is to have a healthy level of expectation. Some of us are lucky and have scarring that can be fixed straightaway by these procedures. The rest of us will need actual surgery to even come close to perfect.

Great! I love lasers and enjoy learning about them. I had 2 CO2 laser treatments last year and everyone remarks how young I look. I want 2 more this year. Downtime was about ten days. Doable

Thank you for doing more on non-surgical procedures. Many of us are fearful of surgery and like to hear alternative options. Would you do a video on Micro Coring?

I wish I saw a video like this when I had a laser resurfacing. It has been the worst experience... It's been 1 year and 9 months and I still have not recover... I had crazy redness for over a and I still have a lot of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. My skin has now stretch marks and it became extremely sensitive. The reason why I did the laser resurfacing was because I was having a lower bepharosplasty and the surgeon said that the laser resurfacing will help tighten my upper lid and my jaw line (you mention in your video that is not true). I will advise to any person considering this treatments to be extremely careful or even better don't do it.

Great video! I just had a Pixel laser treatment this week which is like a mini-Fraxel, it definitely stimulates the collagen and makes my skin look younger!

I’m going to have a couple brown spots zapped off, and now I know what to look for, expect and avoid. I’ve never wanted a facelift until I subscribed to your channel, but now I do ONLY if you’re the one doing it! Wow! What an incredible clinician. TYVM!
