Trump election could have 'huge implications' for Canadian immigration

In the lead-up to his victory in Tuesday's U.S. election, Donald Trump announced a variety of policies that could have a potential impact on Canada, including a promise to deport millions of undocumented immigrants from the U.S.

Political experts say that could lead to more asylum seekers coming to Canada. Speaking on Wednesday, Canadian government officials say they have a “plan” to ensure the country’s border security and control over who comes into the country.

We have no housing, no money to support Canadians let alone refugees, no jobs, no healthcare, no infrastructure to support more people looking for an economic hand up. 25% of Canadians are food insecure, 10% are relying on food banks, we have a homeless crisis (many are our eldery and disabled citizens) and a drug epidemic. We cant absorb anymore people under this situation. We have to help Canadians survive. People trying to come here will end up sleeping on the street at -20° to -30° below. Its not safe. Canada is not the solution. We're already deporting people who arent here legally.

Yes, but the majority of them do not qualify- if they had they would have claimed it in the US. We already have over 1 million that have stayed passed and have been given judicial orders to vacate Canada, that Trudeau has refused to enforce. If we are a country of laws, like Trudeau claims, then every single one coming up from the US should be refused and removed with haste. It is that simple. Our country is facing massive crisis after crisis due to this problem, and we need for our laws and rules to be respected and obeyed.
