One of the best passers I've ever seen. Simple. We've seen a lot of skill put on display at the WJHC, but we haven't quite seen anyone like Trevor Zegras before. There are players in the NHL who are gifted passers as well. Take a look at Nicklas Backstrom, Leon Draisaitl, Joe Thornton and Henrik Sedin when he played. Washington’s Nicklas Backstrom has to be the best passer I’ve ever seen.

If I had to compare Zegras to any player, I would say it would be Backstrom. His vision while cycling and forechecking seems second-to-none. It’s as if he has eyes at the back of his head. One of the best pure passers we have seen at the WJHC in a while. His play replicates that of Backstrom’s to a great extent. Backstrom is more of an “outlet pass off the boards to a winger in the neutral zone” and “great saucer pass archer, ” while as Zegras is more of a “read the play - find the seam” passer. While Backstrom has shown flashes of this in the past, Zegras excels consistently.

It’s amazing to see the rising of an American Superstar. Completely dominated the World Juniors. It’s been amazing to see the US completely revamp hockey at the youth level. US hockey is in its Golden generation right now. Whooh go ducks too. USA

No one really talks about how that was probably one of the greatest Canada WJC teams of all time, and Zegras not only talks smack before the game but backs it up too…it was insane to watch

He's got a lot more development still in him, he's a great player now but hopefully in 5 yrs you will see what I mean he's nowhere near his roof .. but I like that misa kid personally as far as what I see in them each at their respective points, like for before zegras played any pro hockey. That kisa kid is seriously talented I think he's gonna be the next big deal like a mcdavid. He's so advanced in his decision making, positioning, vision, I can't imagine what he'll be at 18

This team was fucking great. He talked shit about Canada and backed it up. Gotta give him respect. I'm Canadian and I wanted team Canada to smash them. The US has really went next level over the past 5 years in this tournament.
