Gibson Les Paul Vs PRS DGT Vs Ibanez AR420. Best LP Type Guitar? Guitar Daily Ep 371

Показать описание
I decided to compare all my Les Paul-style guitars, just for fun, featuring clean neck pickup and overdriven bridge pickup. The PRS DGT SE, might seem odd in this mix, but despite its Strat-like qualities, shares many Les Paul characteristics like a mahogany body, maple cap, and dual humbuckers…so, which one do you think sounds the best?

I know which one I’m leaning towards. Let me know in the comments which one you’d pick? Should I do more of these comparisons? If so, which?

That Ibanez is a beauty. I own a DGT SE, so I may be biased. I really like the sound of the Ibanez for those fusion licks.

Excellent comparisons. For someone who might be considering this type of guitar the Ibanez gives a whole lot of bang for the buck both sound and construction wise.

Normally I avoid guitar comparisons on YouTube because I usually find them unsatisfying even a bit pointless. But I watched this video because not long ago I bought an Ibanez ar420. I actually really enjoyed this video. Your playing is excellent and really does show off each instrument well. Definitely a cut above. And I like your hat.

To me the LP has the proverbial fatness flavour, the Ibanez is the most crisp and the PRS sits in between them. Food for thought. I’m looking to buy a solid body HH this year so this was really helpful. Thanks Nick. And by the way, they all sound amazing in your hands. Great chops. 🙏🏼

The LP neck was really nice- of course, there's a lot of pickup there, Seymour knows his stuff. Liked the PRS better on the bridge, and the neck wasn't bad. The Ibby is eye candy- I worked at an Ibanez dealer in the 80s and always lusted after the Artist guitars, just so beautiful. Seemed to me like the PRS was easier for you to play.

Clean Neck - Ibanez
Driven Bridge - PRS
But they were all so close.
I could tell that your left hand preferred the PRS 😉

Honestly bro, they all sound great in your hands. I have a couple of Ibanez Artcores and I think they offer a lot of bang for the buck.

That Ibanez fancy boy I'm familiar with.
Those are super nice feeling.
Frank Gambale riffage sounds great.🍻

Gibson for me. And that lick around 1:38!!!! Tabs please!!!!😊

Of course I can copy it, though you might have it. Descending cadence in 4th - lending on the chord tone ! Does it get any better???

Listening with my eyes closed there isnt too much in it. So playability and feel would sway me most here - all seem great. For me personally, the PRS does offer more flexibility as well with the tremelo, coil split (would have been interesting for the clean section) and treble bleed.

Hi Nick, I go for all three😂 The Duncan antiquity are a big big part of the sound, great pickups! Nearly the price of the

Great playing Nick - and I didn't get to this until after the workshop, so listened to it on the good gear downstairs! Definitely the Gibson. Loved it. not just the warmth, but the depth to the sound. And the bridge definitely sounded like the best of Steely Dan. The DGT was lovely too and you almost seemed to enjoy playing it the most (?). It was tough on the Ibanez - following the Gibson both times.

For MY money.... The LP won the clean by a mile... (The other two seemed to be suffering from a whiff of "fret buzz/low action-itis") Dirt: I was surprised I picked the Ibanez as I own TWO DGT's... Still heard a lot of fret buzz on the DGT with the dirt...)

FANTASTIC playing... Carlton would be proud and...Quite possible jealous!

Never been an LP fan or tone whore but those antiquities on clean sound incredible. The PRS distortion sounded best but that's probably bc I just picked up a DGT last week and that's exactly how full they sound.

That smooth track to me, and what you were playing, was Larry Carlton-esque, and I liked the sound of the Ibanez the most for that :) once the dirt was on, maybe the PRS was a bit more modern sounding and I liked that.

Just me but if I was after a classic humbucker tone, I’d go for the LP, if I was however going for a more modern tone, the PRS. 😂😂😂👍👍👍

Good morning. Am an Ibanez fanboy, but for me, I liked the PRS overall, especially with the distortion. Awesome playing!
