It generally does help with dexterity if you have never done anything like playing guitar. Not sure why chat got so heated if the majority of them have never played a guitar.

tbh playing guitar hero is way harder than playing an actual guitar. But I agree, it does help you move your fingers faster and follow thw rythm (if the song is well mapped that is)
