WW2 Canadian Wellington Bomber Memorial Hike / Disappearing River

I went hiking to find a WW2 Canadian Wellington Bomber Memorial today. The world war two plane crash sites are quite difficult to find in the Brecon Beacons not being on ordnance survey maps. In the Brecon Beacons national park there is a total of around 40 ww2 plane crash sites.
I also went to check out Sinc Giedd which is the site of a disappearing river. The secret lies with the mass of cave systems in the area which the water flows into. I had a wild swim in the pool at the end of the river before it disappeared.
The hike ended up a total of 12.3km with an elevation of 435 metres and was completed in 3 and a half hours.

Remember going up there last winter and seeing a sheep frozen solid in one of those sinkholes. The wreck is a sad reminder of the cost of war, but also a good history lesson to anyone willing to hike to see it. Great video as always mate.

Really interesting landscape with the disappearing stream and sink holes etc! I always get a similar feeling around those aircraft wrecks. Such a sacrifice those young guys made! Great video👍All the best!

Another one, never knew that. I went to a Canadian Wellington bomber crash site last year also.so there's more than one. I heard that the the Canadian bombers had mechanical issues, that's why they crashed. Cracking video buddy. If you have not seen mine. Be sure to check it out ohh yeeaahhh 👍
