When I Get Home - The Beatles - Full Instrumental Recreation (4K)

"I used to like guitars, I didn't want anything else on the album but guitars and jangling piano, or whatever, and it's all happening." - John Lennon

He was referencing "Ticket to Ride," but it certainly applies here, too. What an aggressive, powerful rock song! Very similar to "You Can't Do That" instrumentally, John propels this song with his growling Rickenbacker.

Recorded on Tuesday, June 2, 1964 in 11 takes, this is probably the weakest track on "A Hard Day's Night," which really just illustrates what a strong album this is. What a great, fun little song.

One more left! Bringing this album home!

Michael, thanks for your great work! As a person who started playing guitar being inspired by the Beatles (and due to them) - I'm truly amazed while watching your covers.
Greeting from Ukraine and looking forward to more covers!

Your work on these songs is always so darned good I find I wind up talking about the song more than about what a good job you did. Excellent, by the way.
This song is simple music-wise but the vocals really carry the weight on this one. Another example of how this album was John doing some of his best work ever. There were fantastic songs contributed by Paul, and George's 12 string set the tone, but this was a John album. Definitely my favorite to play along with.

Aside from not using the Rickenbacker 12-String instead of the Gretsch, good cover

Freddy and the dreamers were not quite as advanced at the time.

Great but to play like Lennon you have to be really pissed at your guitar if you know what I mean.
