Hey guys! Here's our first Double Take video with Tim and Nick. We're trying out the couple of guys, couple of cameras Chappers and the Captain style video. Let us know what you think!

Guitar is running into a Princeton Reverb reissue. Dirty tones are from an EHX Soul Food while harder ones are from a TC Electronic Dark Matter.

I have this same guitar. 2001 model. Serial number on mine dates 9/11/2001. I was shocked when I did a serial number lookup. Great guitars.

I have this guitar with the classic 57 humbuckers. Mine is black. Yesterday I put raw linseed oil on the fretboard and new strings. It sounds good.

Dang me, that is one fine looking guitar. And 57 classics, in that guitar through a PR, come on, are you kidding me? Does it get any cooler? Tim's got great chops too. I really dig the two man setup in the vid too. More of a chance for you to explain the guitar and we get to hear Tim play. Great setup Nick. Keep them coming man. I've been playing my semi hollows a lot lately. The DOT and The Sheraton II, both amazing axes for super short money. Since I don't have a Princeton Reverb, I just plug in the EH Cathedral pedal and go to town. Interesting note. A lot of players I know say the Epi 57's are muddy and other nasty things. I dunno if I got lucky or what, buy mine sound amazing. Heck, even the DOT all stock is a very responsive guitar with great tonal versatility and articulate as can be. Of course, I don't play as well as Tim, LOL, so he might disagree. Anyhoo, thanks for the video brothers. Very cool

Hey Tim & Nick that ES-135 is a
killer jazz box there are several demos on you tube that showcase that unit with Clean mellow sounds, It really has much more potential than Rockabilly and distortion ! Nice first Demo , Great Guitar Give it a Good Road test ! Jazz may noy be your bag, but Clean sounding Rock ballads would be really showing that 135's talent

Hello, Nick. Great video, and great guitar. I am considering buying an ES 135 blue burst, like yours, but it has a trapeze tail please. I saw your video about the different types of Bigsby‘s, which was extremely helpful. My question is whether to put on a Bigsby B6 or a B7. I put a B6 on my Les Paul studio using the Viber mate adapter, which

I also put Vitamin Q caps and CTS volume and tone pots in mine. It made a huge improvement on the tone. Clear as a bell now, sparkle and spank.

I've always fancied an ES-135 and when they are AUCTIONED on eBay can go for reasonable prices. One thing I notice is that the specs are very different across years or models which makes them very different guitars.
I tried a Blueburst later tune-o-matic humbucker model ES-135 in a guitar shop, which I learned from Googling later probably had a mahogany centre block, and that was very close to sounding like a typical 335.
I've also tried two trapeze models - one with the P100s changed to P90s and one with humbuckers, which I'm assuming had the balsa centre block - much more Gretschy or twangy-sounding like a halfway house between a hollow or semi-hollow than the first I tried although feedback was well controlled with dirt. The Blueburst one was probably the 'all trounder' as it sounded so 335 but the others had more of a distinct charm. Either way, the kind of guitar I'd buy if one came up for a great deal price.

Ok one more thing; to repeat Im a beginner so ... when I tweak the amp I do it with the neck pickup first and then once Im happy with it I tweak the tone and volume control of the bridge pickup. Like this they both sound great. Usually this means taking the volume knob down to 6-7 on the bridge pup. This is for hard rock music.

My question is, could I put on a Bigsbybesix, and avoid drilling any holes into the top of the body? Would be eager to hear your experience about putting on the B7, and whether a B6 plus a vibramate adapter could work on this guitar. Thank you

It's November 1st... so you know what that means, right? A creepy mustache is back. I'm cheating this round and starting with a big ole stache and letting it get more epic, creepy, sketchy... you choose the adjective!

The 135 was not made of plywood! The body & neck are maple with the center block being made of balsa. Gibson advertised the center block material as ‘Chromyte’.

Im not a good player :) and I thought your vids were goodish when it comes to playing but not great :) When this video started I could only see the hands and I thought "why doesn't Nick always play this good, with deep feel" thinking it was you :) Then I saw the "other guy" (I didnt read the description). I think its better this way, your buddy can be the player and you are good at explaining, interesting to listen to. I like this 2 guy format!

Too much reverb and simple playing to show out the qualities of this guitar. Sorry
