He has never been beaten in any major competition. 242 kg clean & jerk is unbeliveable achievement. Rezazadeh WR in 105 + class is 263.5 kg and in doing so he was more than 50 kg heavier than Ilyin. This lift has to be considered as one of the greatest feat in long weightlifting history. The whole championship was phenomenal, so many world records and epic battles. In Ilyin's class three men broke clean & jerk WR in a space of few minutes. Fantastic stuff.

For you weightlifters out there, try this. When he cleans the barbell, measure the maximum height of the barbell at the top of the pull and the height of the barbell where he catches it. Do the same for the jerk.

You will notice that he maximizes his efficiency by getting under the barbell very quickly. He does not have to pull or push the barbell very high. That’s an awesome demonstration of technique, speed, and power.
