Honestly one of the best lessons on soloing ive ever had. Thank you for being specific about the scale, progression, chord tones on the neck you are using, all of it.

Rusty thank you. I have learned more from watching you and listening to you play and the way you teach. I discovered that I need to learn the notes of the strings on the neck and some scales

We have similar Strats. I like your ear for phrasing. Like you say, if you just chase the chord shapes a little bit your playing will sound much more melodic. Even when you're playing in one key over all the chords, know where the IV and V notes are in each scale pattern. Thanks for posting.

I really like this one. Keeping things simple, with just the one pentatonic scale, but making sure to target those chords from within that scale, I think, is what makes it sound as good as it does. I'm pretty sure I heard more than a few Mark Knopfler-isms in there, so that should give a bit of insight into how he thinks: keep it simple and know (and target) the chords you're playing over ... Nice job on this one.
