Maduro Says Venezuela & Brazil Should "Liberate" Puerto Rico from US | Vantage with Palki Sharma

Nicolas Maduro has been sworn in as the president of Venezuela for the third time. The West disputes his victory, and has imposed new sanctions. Maduro is happy to irritate the West. He upped the ante on Sunday, by saying that Venezuela and Brazil should work together to "liberate" the US territory of Puerto Rico from American colonialism. Puerto Rico has been asking for full statehood for years, but the US keeps finding excuses to deny them the right. How long will Puerto Ricans remain second-class citizens in the US?

Puerto rico will literally throw him off the island themselves. They do not want to be taken over by a dictator. Fidel Castro wasnt welcomed there and neither will Maduro.

Don't Venezuela have oil? Don't give the US any ideas. Sounds like Venezuela needs some freedom.

There’s a lot of Puerto Ricans that joined the U.S. military. Like a lot. It’d be pretty ironic if he tries doing this and ends up fighting Puerto Rican troops.

Puerto Ricans have American blood in them. They also know war they fought alongside the U.S in WWll and many other wars.

Puerto Ricans are not "second class-citizens", as you state. The political status of the government does not reduce the rights of the citizens. Puerto Ricans are citizens in its true sense, enjoying all the protection and rights provided by the US Constitution. The representation issue is one of politics and not of rights and freedom. Another example of this channel taking cheap shots at the USA.

What a idiotic way to play semantics... The island of Puerto Rico is a colony but the people living in that island are American citizens they could move to any state and vote.. today's colony in the colony of old are two different things Puerto Rico is not being ran by slaves they are allowed to govern themselves and is given all of the resources of the United States and it's backed by the full might of its armies.. You can say what you want but there's a reason why the Puerto Ricans now want statehood
