You missed something about the gold when Katarina kills her target. Beforehand you can see that the noxian noble is wearing some kind of golden necklace, this just shows that she slit his throat, without showing blood on the screen, but rather showing the necklace pieces scattered all around.

Katarina fighting Elise, but focusing on her target is PEAK Katarina gameplay.
How many times has a Katarina player faked trying to kill a target, but then instantly jump the support player and 1 shot them LOL.
She even did the bread and butter Katarina fake out, W- Drop dagger, reposition, E- Dash to dagger, R- Ult, snags the kill.
Et all, I LOVE how Fortiche takes all of this into consideration. They managed to translate the Katarina playstyle of misdirection perfectly.
Also, the gold coming out is a reference to her old passive that gave her extra gold on a champion kill

Mel frequently put gold lines under her eyes pretty frequently. Especially in season 1 for her counselor outfit, well before she interacted with LeBlanc

I love kata, and I want to believe that her smile following elise s transfomation is just a "finally things gets interesting" smile, considering that kata likes a little challenge when doing her job

5:26 yes Mel's eyes mimic leblanc, but I think it's important to note that this is not entirely new!
Throughout the entire show, she's had the gold lines under her eyes (as well as freckles :D ). In scenes without make-up, notably in the pit with 'Kino', the gold on her face is all gone, so it wasn't the permanent gold magic-y stuff she has now. Additionally- the make-up is gone, but the magic-body-armour-stuff is still there.
AND! when Mel first transforms into her gold version, the line is on her chin, not her lip. So maybe it's more make-up, she can choose where the gold lines are and like move them about her body, or it's an animation error lmao.
There's something about trying to make your own destiny, but it's already pre-written for you by others and inescapable about all this to me. (Mel making her make-up mimic leblanc before knowing who that even is)

Probably the last scene was hinting LeBlanc's intrest in Darkin weapons as a whole, not just Naafiri- Which, if all of this is happening before Ionia, that would explain why the Black Rose would want to invade The First Lands in the first place, for powerful "Artifacts" being darkin weapons... And Ionia has a handful of them trapped, like Varus, Xolaani and the Darkin Fan. But like all of black roses' plans we all know how it ended: Kayn stole Rhaast from Noxus, Valmar and Kai got to Varus before the noxian armies could and Xolaani is... Uh... Anyway, maybe LeBlanc's next "risky" move was to invade Ionia... Maybe THAT'S why she was gathering powerful people to join the Black Rose-

My interpretation of the Mel scene is that this is some sort of mental test, probably from LeBlanc, to see if she is “strong enough” to enter Noxus. Leblanc has shown herself capable of creating lifelike illusions, and while it seemed like she needed a catalyst for those illusions in Arcane, it wouldn’t surprise me if her power was stronger in Noxus. I also don’t think the idea that this is a vision of the future holds up, because of the falling stones and head we see later. I could be wrong though, especially if we take into account LeBlanc basically brushing off Vladimir’s suggestion of focusing on Mel. It also could be that the rest of the vision is a potential future, while the stones stuff was something else. That’s just my theory, tho!
