My dentist as a kid had the Vectrex for kids to play while they waited. It was the only place I had seen one ever before. I always will remember those curious little machines...

Cosmic Chasm was first released on the Vectrex in 1982 and then in the arcades in 1983 by Cinemtronics with some changes.

The Vectrex is awesome. Mark Can't believe you have not reviewed more consoles or computers. Such as commodore 64, zx spectrum, amega 500 etc etc. Just got my hands on a zx spectrum 48k Cant wait to play some manic miner.

I've been waiting for this one for a while now. "Cosmic Chasm" (along with the light pen game) were always my favorites on the Vectrex!


Although I never noticed until now that the central core reminds me of the OCP logo from "Robocop."

this is one of my favorite Vectrex games!! I just picked up a copy myself. :-) Other favorite vectrex games are Minestorm, fortress of narzod, scramble, and Vector Pilot (homebrew game and my favorite :) ).

Wow. That's pretty impressive for a game from that era. Also... Something about the way it plays makes me think of the mid-90's game 'descent'... (In which you navigate some kind of flying ship through underground caverns, blowing up robots.)
