Landscape Design Gone Wrong😑
Показать описание
This is a holly. I bet it looked nice when it was first planted and so did those green giant trees, which can get to be almost 20 feet WIDE and up to 60 feet tall. Remember that those kittens turn into cats fast.
Unfortunately this was professionally designed, as part of a larger plan which also included many other extra plants all over the property and now they all have to be dealt with only three years later.😑 The green giants will literally cost thousands of dollars in pruning to maintain, to keep them in check enough to keep them away from the house and to be able to walk by on the other side, now right up against the property line. If I sound annoyed, I am. I felt so bad for this client.
Regarding spacing from the house: you want at least a foot between the outer edge of a plant and the side of a house. That means that when you plant it you have to think ahead to what size it will be when it’s fully grown. Yes, you can prune the back of it but that’s extra maintenance.
You should also consider the roots of whatever you plant near a house. Trees need a lot more clearance.
Please resist the temptation to do this to yourself because shrubs and trees are hard to move once they get even a little established.
Designers: I see it all the time. Please don’t do this to your clients. 🙏
Location: videos are done by clients at their homes
