To celebrate the company's 100th anniversary, German laser manufacturer Trumpf pointed a gigantic laser into the sky near Suttgart, Germany. According to the company, it is the largest birthday candle in the world. The laser could be seen in the evening and was equipped with various safety features. For example, the laser was deactivated when an aircraft approached.
