A milk truck with a 440, that will whip your cream.

A very, very long time ago a friend put a 440 in his milk truck. It had a 6 cylinder originally. Had the sense to change the rear end. but he didn't change the driveshaft. After the 1st time he dropped the clutch in anger, it removed itself, was twisted mess of steel...hard way to learn that Chrysler did not use the same driveshaft for the flat head 6 (not even a slant 6) as their big V8s.

Divco trucks were originally equipped IIRC with Continental 6 cylinder if not International Harvester engines in Richmond Indiana by a company that is now making school bus bodies.

Could that box be a push-button Torqueflite behind that 440?

my dad was a milk man and I remember them well the inside should be rotted out because of the ice for the milk also you could drive them standing up (the seat pushed back) I could tell you more but just giving you a little info

I remember them. We got milk to the door when I was a kid. I imagine you have very few tools with you. You want to 'social distance' so no going into the store to talk to them so adiso little old milk truck. Wonder if that is a push button transmission. Plymouth/ Dodge had em.
