This video introduces the method of implicit differentiation, which is a method we need to learn in order to differentiate functions that are expressed in terms of more than one variable (usually 𝑦 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐬 𝑥). We arrive at this result from other results earlier in this chapter, then see it in action by talking through some examples.

This lesson is meant as preparation for Exercise 9H, page 255 of the Pearson Edexcel Pure Mathematics Year 2/A2 Textbook.
